But they should at least receive a jail punishment. It affects gameplay just as badly as cheating. It’s not something you can do by accident; to do it you have to press the keys in a specific order and timing. It’s extremely unlikely that innocent players would get punished by mistake. A few days of jail time would make the situation clear.

If your serial gets banned by othersposted in GTO Talk
What if others ban your serial?
I've spoken with asturel today and he made a final judgment and proclamation which I will now deliver to you :
We removed the ban from the two serials involved in the recent incident, but this was the first and the last time. Since the attacker already knows these two serials, he will simply reapply the ban sooner or later. We cannot help with that.
The banlist must remain visible so you can see when your ban expires or why you were banned. We cannot make it private under any circumstances. You are responsible for any serials visible in your player settings.
We have been saying for a long time that players who share accounts will not receive any assistance. If you shared your account and, because of that, your serial became visible to potential attackers, we will not help you.
This is why everyone must understand the following:
DO NOT SHARE YOUR PASSWORD. DO NOT PLAY ON SOMEONE ELSE’S ACCOUNT. ONLY USE YOUR OWN ACCOUNT AND NEVER GIVE IT TO ANYONE.
If you end up on the banlist for any reason, it means you have done something wrong as a player. Even if you eventually get unbanned, that is simply the consequence of your actions. We cannot and will not help in such situations.

OwlGaming is now an open‑source project that allows anyone to create an RP server. I personally always disliked RP servers — I never understood the appeal of playing a game by pretending to act like you do in real life. Still, I have to admit that most popular servers nowadays are RP-based.
An OwlGaming admin who had access to the code basically uploaded it to the internet, and that’s how it became open source. But this happened around 15 years ago. Since then, people have been downloading and running it without realizing how many security issues it has. The codebase is extremely outdated and relies on abandoned MySQL modules.
Cheating became a major issue in 2023 because AI reached a point where cheat developers could easily obtain the information they needed. You can phrase questions to ChatGPT in a way that it unintentionally helps you. I don’t know any MTA developer who would willingly assist cheat developers — at one point I suspected Dutchman because some Turkish players made me believe that. He’s the only member of the MTA AC Team, and he simply can’t keep up with cheat developers. Every time he announces a new AC update, cheaters break through it in less than an hour.
Eventually I lost contact with him because it became impossible to have a normal conversation. I guess he never actually wanted to understand that I was misled into believing he had helped the Turks attack GTO. I sent him messages with as much detailed information as possible so he could actually help, but he never bothered to read them — his response was always “I’m not going to read essays.” He was hostile and created his own false assumptions, accusing us of breaking the server (GTO) with this or that. He even snapped at Asturel because of a misunderstanding he created himself, despite Asturel also telling him that we never did the thing he believed we did.
And the reason he came to those conclusions was simply because he didn’t read the full messages — he only skimmed every third or fourth line and built his assumptions from that.

@Castilo These were banned in 2024 September and asturel's wish about chain bans was happened later.
Rules change over time but by only a bit
For e.g. in the past we given bans for crouchbug and now only jail. But that doesn't mean that older punishments will be changed to new ones.
The punishments are given for a reason - to learn not to get banned again for the same thing. Checking your current account we can see that you still use cheats so you learnt nothing from losing these.
People still try to ask for amnesty for older punishments, and sometimes they slip through by getting an unjail for e.g. which was given for a crouchbug years ago.
And one thing to note: Self confirming that you used a cheat is perfectly enough for a ban even if there was no actual video evidence of it, the conversation between you and your friend tells everything how the two of you tried the first cheats.Don't get me wrong I know that all of you use the cheat now, maybe 1-2 players are an exception only. Since MTA's AC can't detect it you can use them, but be aware because we see some hints, and some logs which indicates the usage.

RE: ???posted in GTO Talk
@MileyCyrus I know that you said "nicer words" to him than now so you can quit acting. I honestly don’t care about what you say. I’m not your friend. In fact, I’ve never had friends on GTO because as an active admin you'd make exceptions for them. That’s why I never understood why you acted like we were close.
Either way, it doesn’t matter to me. I genuinely don’t care anything about you or anything you say. Gerson should have banned you way much earlier for cheating, but he didn’t. Only recently did I see how many cheats you’ve been using over the past months. Teleports are hard to notice, but was it really necessary to ruin records? Was it necessary to cheat in front of people who could easily record you?
@MileyCyrus said in ???:
i could literally unjail myself instantly
But you'll not tell us how of course

I know you don’t care about punishments — you just buy your unbans and move on. Your behavior shows a complete lack of respect for the game and the community. Even the turkish guy has more moral than you.

We would never accept videos taken like this. Download OBS, and make a proper good quality video. This game is 22 year old, almost all PC can run it smoothly now.
Your HS Rocket's target range was simply too out of the Hunter's distance. Sometimes its bugged. Maybe it can be set via script but it won't be I guess.
You should never forget that this game was originally planned to singleplayer only and this means that some vehicles such as Hunter or Hydra are too op in multiplayer. Hydra needed to be deleted because there was no way to make it balanced. You could never kill a Hydra, but the Hydra user could easily kill you in no time.
Hunter is also too op in some aspects but at least it has some counter logic.Jetpack is also a game mechanic which is simply too op in a multiplayer mod, but since we added it we can't remove it anymore, not like Hydra.

@HomeMade Give proof. We can't ban all of his accounts just because he cheated on one. Asturel don't want this to happen.

@MileyCyrus You could speak to him a few days ago. I did nothing. I know you just want to buy unjail from him.

How to connect to IRCposted in GTO Announcements
HexChat Setup Guide for GTANet
-
Go to the official HexChat download page:
https://hexchat.github.io/downloads.html -
Choose the 32‑bit or 64‑bit installer depending on your system.
You can check this under Settings → System → About on Windows. -
After downloading and installing HexChat, launch the client.

-
Enter your desired Nick name (usually your account name).
The second and third nickname fields are fallback names in case your main nickname is already in use. -
Username:
This can be anything, but if you register an IRC account later, you will have a permanent username and can use multiple nicknames with it.
Your full IRC identity looks like this:
nickname!username@host-
In the Network List window, press Add
Type "GTANet" and hit Enter

-
Now let "GTANet" as selected, then hit Edit...

- Click the default server entry (e.g., newserver/6667 or newserver/6697 ) and replace it with:
comet.uk.eu.gtanet.com/6697-> press Enter (Pressing Enter is required to save the server.)
-
Tick Connect to selected server only.
Tick Connect to this network automatically. -
Login Method: Choose NickServ (/msg NickServ + password) only if you will register an account on GTANet later.
-
At the top, open the Autojoin Channels tab.
-
Press Add next to it.
-
Type #gto.talk and press Enter.
(Pressing Enter is required to save the channel.) -
Press Close
-
Back in the Network List window, you may tick Skip network list on startup if you prefer.
You can always reopen it via HexChat → Network List. -
Press Connect, or simply close and reopen HexChat — it will automatically connect to GTANet and join #gto.talk.
Additional Notes
HexChat uses the IRC protocol, which predates modern chat platforms like MSN, Skype, and Discord.
It’s a 25–30+ year‑old technology. HexChat does not include a built‑in dark mode, but you can enable one using configuration files.Dark Mode Setup
- Open the Start Menu.
- Type %APPDATA% and press Enter.
- Open the HexChat folder.
- Create or edit colors.conf using Notepad.
-> Paste the content from: https://pastebin.com/qiyQFvMx
-> Save
-> Close file. - Create or edit pevents.conf using Notepad.
-> Paste the content from: https://pastebin.com/CEwXaYSm
-> Save
-> Close file. - Restart HexChat to apply the changes.
If you did everything good, you'll see something like this:

You can still go to Settings -> Preferences to set a lot of things such as logging
If you need timestamp for e.g. 2026.02.10. 10:11:00:
Interface -> Appearance->Timestamp:(%Y.%m.%d. %H:%M:%S)If you need logging:
Chatting -> Logging:
You can tick "Enable logging of conversations to disk"
Log filename:D://HexChat/logs/%Y-%m-%d/%n-%c.log(NOTE: This is my personal pattern, so you have to change the start of it. I save my logs to D drive. This pattern will save logs into separate files for each day.)
Timestamp in logfiles:(%Y.%m.%d. %H:%M:%S)If you insist to save logs, I recommend you to NOT save logs on an SSD as it will continously write on the drive and will weaken it.

RE: exposing Moderator Gerson.posted in GTO Talk
In MTA, every ban has an “admin” field.
MTA uses this field to indicate which element/player created or issued the ban.
When this field is not defined, the system shows “Console”, which represents the server’s running application - basically the server console itself. There are only one or two bans in the banlist that show “Console”, but in reality they were issued by an actual human.
Regarding fefurr and markitoo$:
I used to have videos showing them using aimbot, but the problem was that they defended themselves extremely aggressively. I was told I'm just bad at the game and that’s why I couldn’t shot like they did. If I were as good as they I'd have shoots like them - they said. My condition affected my hands a few years ago, and I’m honestly just happy if I can move the mouse without pain. Because of that, I can’t participate in games the way I used to.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t tell the difference between which shot is possible in MTA and which is definitely a cheat. There were even PM logs where they talked a lot about cheating, and it was an open secret among players. Their accounts also had AC‑detect based kicks. But I knew that in cases like this, Asturel would take their side. He barely played GTA SA in his life — maybe one or two days total — so he doesn’t understand how the fighting system works, and he tends to believe others over me. So I removed the ban.
And then, because I removed the ban, I still got scolded by some people here, so whatever.About the video you posted:
That’s not a cheat. It’s an exploit of a GTO bug.
Years ago it was common that players could stand behind a wall and kill others who had no line of sight on them. Asturel made a script that checks whether both players have line of sight on each other, but the problem is that it compares the shooter’s weapon muzzle position to the target player’s center point. Because of this, sometimes a player doesn’t take damage even though there is a clear line of sight.I even false‑banned a Turkish player last year because of this — he got unbanned afterwards, but of course I got cursed out for it.
If the script cast the check on both players’ heads, it would work properly. I think I even worked on fixing it 1–2 years ago, but I might have run into another bug caused by the fix. I’ll take another look.
So, tl;dr: the video is not a cheat.About stating:
Personally, I don’t understand why we give jail for this.
The account should simply get banned, and stats should be reset every 6-12 months. That’s the only system that ever worked.
When we only give jail, the damage they made is already done. They got the kills they wanted which will stay there forever.
If we could automate it so that when an account is banned for stating, their stats would automatically reset after 1–2 months, that would be ideal. But I haven’t been able to convince Asturel to change this for years.Stating has another problem:
There is no legal way to gain weapon skill points without doing a “soft stating”.
You wouldn’t know this, but on the old GTO (the one running on sa-mp from 2006 to 2014), there were no bots on dms so we didn't need skills. Players fought each other with single‑handed sawn‑offs. Two‑handed sawn-offs were extremely rare — I was one of maybe 3–4 players in eight years who ever got it. And earning it was hard, because you only got 2 points for one kill on the weapon you killed with, and you could get only 6 or 9 points on a single day for the same player you killed. Something similar is on this GTO as well. I'm sure you noticed you stop getting skill points after a few kills on the same person. When I had to deal with stating, I always looked at what kill count seemed realistic on each level, what KD ratio was still acceptable.
If someone did stating but only did like 10–20 kills, they got nothing.
About dm stating: you can get help from others, sure, but don’t go to a DM that’s at least 5 levels below your own level.
It also helps if you die a few hundred times so your DM stats don’t look unrealistically high. For normal KD, with 15 years of experience, I’ve noticed that you simply cannot maintain a KD higher than 2.0 if you play legitimately.
So if someone’s KD is significantly above that, it’s guaranteed to be a stating case.
Of course you have to consider the total kills and deaths as well because someone could have 200 kills and 50 deaths, in which case the KD would be 4.0, but the base numbers are very low.
